Social Justice and Fairness

Fairness is extremely important. To be fair we must let people enjoy the fruits of their labors. That gives everyone hope and the possibility to improve their situation. This  is very important to everyone but especially to the poor.

 

This video has an American point of reference but it is particularly relevant to Israel. Pay attention to the experiment done with students' test scores and how that relates to fairness.

 

The Bible has an unusual solution to social justice and fairness. It is a cyclical solution including a sabbatical year (shmittah). There is even a Shmittah park in Jerusalem that explains the concept. Read more about it here.
